There have been a couple of times over the last year that Colin and I have tipped for our server 100% of the bill at a restaurants. We don't leave higher tips to be recognized for it. It is typically when the server is good, personable and it just feels right. We did this one time at Olive Garden. (95% of the time we try to tip in cash as well. That way our server can have their tip right then and don't have to wait for it.) The server ended up catching us as we headed out the door. She asked us if we were sure about what we left her. We told her yes and to have a good day. She told us thank you repeatedly but also told us she had just come into work and had been having a bad day and what we did for her just made her day. Makes me smile rethinking about it now!
